Good afternoon everyone. Very excited. We finally bought my son his first gaming PC and 2 monitors. We got him an HP Omen GT13-1094 from BB and 2 Lenovo G25-10 monitors.

We are not PC geniuses by any stretch of the imagination, so I apologize if my questions are very noob.

Additional Case Fans: I am not sure if they can be added except maybe to the bottom of the case in front of the power supply. There are vents on the bottom and I am wondering if somehow mounting a fan here is of any value to bring more air into the case? Also, There is a fan on the back and front of the case. Can these be upgraded to better fans that move more air?

The CPU is liquid cooled. I know nothing about liquid cooling. What are things we should know about liquid cooling?

Additional Harddrive: It comes with a 1tb SSD. We want to add an additional drive. What HD specs are important to look at when adding one on?

Thank you in advance for your help. You have been very helpful in the past in answering my questions and I look forward to what I will learn from you now that the purchase has been made.

Arthur E. Levandoski
If your CPU is liquid cooled you likely don’t need extra or better case fans to move the heat. I mean it won’t hurt but likely not needed. I alway like to get a 4TB hard drive for games and such but you can also add another SSD.

Andrew Beyers
Arthur E. Levandoski my cpu is liquid cooled and my case still gets hot even with 6 extra fans I can feel the heat pumping out. my 3090 is a beast can use it as a heater in the winter 😂

Greg Parks
Arthur E. Levandoski awesome. Thank you for the info. Have a great evening.

Hey Greg I think my fiance had the same prebuilt unfortunately that is probably the worst I have seen for upgradability.....I think of you look there's actually only two case fans and there aren't any holes to install more...I found that out the hard way after buying her new case fans...when you eventually upgrade his PC the only things that are upgradable are the Ram CPU and GPU the Power Supply that comes with the case should be a cooler master PSU but the way they have it rigged to the system is the cables are connect and put through in such a way that upgrading the power supply is impossible because getting the cords out of the case takes littlerly cutting them....It was a wonder computer and it games like a beast but unfortunately HP is HP and they don't like all that fancy upgrading talk

Greg Parks
Landon Clark this is good to know. Thank you for the info and have a great day.

Having a mesh front with fans and then fans at the rear and top is all you need the rest is unnecessary rgb

Greg Parks
Cody Goldade that is good to know. Thank you very much for the info. Have a great evening.

Greg Parks np good luck with your build man it’s a fun process just learning and my first build I learned a lot I wanna go AIO on my current then full water loop for the next build no need to go all out the first time

Greg White
Where to start ..... case fans, you may not need to add any but if there is room for more you will know by looking through the case thoroughly ..... liquid cooling ... dont worry about it too much but keep an eye in the temperature as when the cooler starts to go bad the pc will start running hotter..... as for hard drives/storage you want at least two at all times an ssd to run windows from and a few games that you play most often and the secondary hard drive with 4-8tb to hold the rest of your games .... good luck and remember to always read the manual lol

Greg Parks
Greg White thank you very much for the info. I will put it to good use. Have a great evening.

I'm not an expert at all, either, and this may be different for a gaming laptop (which I'm using) than a desktop, but regular fans are designed to move air out rather than be air conditioning, so any way to get the heat the C/GPU will build up is a must. If you have a good fan system, you may not need to add more fans, but you'd only know that after using the PC.
Apart from liquid cooling, you may need to apply thermal paste to the CPU overtime. Laptops on average need it around 3+ years, but I'm not sure how long, if at all, your desktop will be fine until you need it.
There's lots of software you can download to help you monitor temperatures, and they're free so you should totally find one you like to help you figure out how well your machine is handling its cooling.

Greg Parks
Justin Parks thank you Justin. See you Saturday.

Very true

This is hilarious 😂

Dennis Kristiansen
Nope. Ive pretty much stopped gaming since i built my computer, which i built 3-4 years ago

Mack Tied-in
Dennis Kristiansen wtf why

Dennis Kristiansen
Mack Tied-in not fun or entertaining anymore idk why. I do play with friends tho, cus that actually is fun. But i started music production, so the pc is far from underused dare i say

Michael Georges
Dennis Kristiansen yep me too its because of bills

Nicolas Sukhu
Literally a constant bill lmao where most of my money goes apart from investing

Adam James Williams
Should be small print at the bottom of this *if he can get his hands on the parts to even build it*

Will Brown
I have seen more people here say how they have given up or lost interest in gaming who have spend 1000s on pc parts.
Than any other group.
I have ps 1,2, 3, 4 and still use them all and enjoy it.

Harry Likely
Will Brown it wasn’t always so crazy. It’s gotten a bit insane of late. However a pc can do more then just game. So depends on what you want or need.

Will Brown
Harry Likely yep it can but as a gaming pc I can't see my self ever spending the money some do I've worked in it doing robotics and in it in hospitals and understand the need for high end and expensive kit in those industries

William Kripas
Will Brown with the way the market is its better to just buy pre-built pics, cheaper, software limitations stop you from upgrading even if it's artificially created. Over all pcs can be a bit of a headache.
